Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 Oct 2026

Miftah PDF is built so that we hold as little information about you as possible. This page explains exactly what we store and why.

Tools that never touch our servers

Thirteen of the fifteen tools — merge, split, organise, compress, rotate, watermark, page numbers, sign, protect, unlock, extract text, PDF to images and images to PDF — run entirely inside your browser. Your file is read by JavaScript on your own device. It is never uploaded, never logged, and never seen by us.

The two tools that do use a server

PDF to Word and PDF to Excel need to process the document layout, so the file is sent to our server for conversion. The converted file is produced immediately, the uploaded original is deleted from disk within minutes, and we store no copy, no filename and no content.

Accounts and licence keys

If you create an account we store your email address, an optional display name, a hashed password, your licence keys and a record of your purchases. We never store your password in a readable form.

Payments

Payment details are entered on the payment provider's own secure page — our servers never see your card or wallet details. We receive only the amount, the currency, a reference and the outcome.

Anonymous usage counts

We count tool usage, success and failure so we can tell which tools need work. These counters contain no file names, no file contents and no personal data, and they are tied to a random visitor id rather than to you.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies: your language choice, your theme, and your sign-in session. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking cookie.

Your rights

You can export or permanently delete everything we hold about you at any time by emailing us. We action deletion requests within 72 hours.
